So You Want To Run an Event

If you have never been an event steward, these pages will help you through the process.

The Guidelines for Choosing an Event Steward/Autocrat contains the criteria for choosing an event steward/autocrat.

The Guidelines for an Event Steward/Autocrat contains information on what to expect, what to do, and how to.

The process from the time that the application is submitted to when the bid is actually awarded is here.

These are the time frames that the Seneschal needs to consider. At least 9-10 months prior to the date of a major traditional event such as Feast of the Hare, or a Kingdom event e.g., Crown Tourney where the lead time is minimum 15 months, a call goes out for applications for event stewards and cooks. The closing date is announced by the Seneschal which can be as early as 8-9 months prior to the event.

For smaller events, timing will vary depending on the complexity of the event. For example, Practicum requires a significant lead time (at least 6 months) to organize courses and teachers whereas Autocrat's Day Off by definition requires a smaller amount of lead time.

This is the process that was used for the basis of these pages.
