A part of the On-Line Parish Clerk project for Devonshire County, England

The Project in Brief:

The GENUKI Devon On-Line Parish Clerk Project, is a group of individuals who at their own expense and time, have accrued information for one or more of the parishes in Devonshire, England. The information you will find on this page, is information taken from any number of sources, including but not limited to Parish registers and census returns. (Two of the most useful genealogical tools) Some of the information contained in this page is from my own transcriptions, and some is information that was donated to me, already transcribed.

My Goals with this site:

This page is to help anyone who has a genealogical interest in the Parish of Lamerton with any of the resources i have accrued. I will perform parish register look ups, though until the entirety of the registers are transcribed, i will only be able to do specific look ups. I have only recently taken on this responsibility and my resources though in my opinion contain the most important documents (PR's up to about 1840, the 1841 (pending), 1851, 1881 censuses) are not yet as robust as they could be. Any donations of information, whether in digital format or in physical form would be greatly appreciated, and you can contact me at lamertonopc@sympatico.ca which is the same e-mail one would use to contact me for look up requests.

In trying to make this page work and advance it's appeal, anyone with photos, either old or new, of the parish, be it the church, the downtown, the cemetery or other public buildings or areas, not to mention photos of the Duke of Bedford's estates. If you know of links which other readers might find of interest, submit them to me, and if I agree I will get them into my links page.

About Me:

My name is Luke Gassien, and I'm from Ontario, Canada. My mother's name line (Gloyne) spent many decades (centuries actually) in or about the parish of Lamerton, though they ventured outside of it, to the neighboring parishes quite frequently. Over the past year I've managed to get myself hooked (well, addicted is more like it) to genealogy. The ease at which I was able to piece together my French-Canadian lines hooked me, and the difficulty by which the lines in this area of the world were to piece together insulted me. So instead of throwing up my hands and giving up, I decided to pitch in and make the whole process a bit easier. This site and the lookups I offer to do, are my contribution. If I, or other OPC's manage to help you in your research, and you have the resources, I strongly urge you to consider taking on a parish, the satisfaction of helping others is a reward you cannot measure.

Now… for those pesky disclaimers: **If there's anything on this web page which violates or infringes on any copyrights owned by you or your affiliates, or if I have made a link to your site and you would prefer that I didn't, please email me at the above link, and it will be removed immediately, with my apologies**

'The term OPC as used here, refers to a repositor of genealogically related materials such as (but not limited to) Church register transcripts, land tax assessments and census information, and the OPC should in no way be confused with the Parish Council appointed Parish Clerks. All OPCs are unpaid volunteers who are willing to assist others in their genealogical research.'

This site is purely non-profit, and contains no paid links, nor links to which I have any financial interest in.
