My background is in radio. I was working for Energy 1200 and Majic 100, two Ottawa radio stations until I decided to become an Internet Consultant for the Media. See http://www.farfan.com/
My consulting work also involves helping businesses get onto the Internet. I did Internet training for business and personal Internet users.
I was also a writer for Monitor Magazine. I wrote a monthly column about Kids and the Internet.
I was an author, of kids' books, and more general books.
Now I sleep.
I have a girlfriend (sorry ladies, I'm taken) :)
Some people ask about my history... Well, it goes something like this:
It all started when the words "It's a boy!" were overheard. My parents were happy... I wasn't - I was waiting for someone to put some clothes on me. Real embarassing! Anyways, apparently, I started to cry. I don't remember, but my mom doesn't usually lie, so I'll believe her.
So then, I thought of a lot of different jobs I wanted to do when I grew up. I wanted to be a policeman, a fireman, a fire truck driver, a milk truck driver, a bus driver, a garbage truck driver (actually, I wanted to be the guy that pulls the lever that makes all of the garbage go to the inside of the truck), a bus driver, and a radio guy. The last one worked out.
So I got older, I got an Adidas bag. So did every other kid in my school. I have no idea how I ever found mine when the bell rang. But I did. Luckily. Otherwise, I may not have eaten lunch. And my mom put "Wagon Wheel" snacks in my lunch so I wouldn't have wanted to lose it.
I liked to make people laugh. Especially in high school. High school was fun. But college was better. In college, I used the "I'm washing my hair" excuse for not going to gatherings really often. And it worked. I think that only works if you have really short hair like mine.
So I made people laugh, and one day, I was talking with a bunch of people and said "Hey, wouldn't it be cool if there was a newsgroup where I could post about how my day went, about cheese stories and stuff like that?". Jessica Cohen said "I know how we can get it done". It worked! We got 25 posts the first day, then about the same thing in the next few days. We knew we had something going. Cool!
Now there are tons of cool people from all over the world reading alt.fun.with.luc. Shaba!
