For over 5 years silverchair has played their hearts out, trying to be accepted in the cruel world of "show biz". To be tolerated , to be accepted, but silverchair don't care,theycame to a realization that they could only be what they are , & i'm sure chairheads globally would like to thank them for that. All about integrity, silverchair has never "faked it" & they aren't about to start now. According to the LAS, "they have fulfilled all of their commitments under their current recording & publishing contracts." But all the chair fans know that any record label would luv to acquire such an amazing band. Right now, the chair believe it's not the time. For the last 5 years "silverchair" has been Daniel, Chris & Ben's lives. Being harrased with interviews, constantly exposing all of your personal life, as Daniel has said "always taking about yourself is boring, it's stupid". Touring, recording, rehearsing & writting, didn't leave much time to be normal people. Over the coming months, they just want to spend some time being normal people, with none of the pressures of "silverchair". This is particularly true for Daniel, given that he never got much of a break last yearbecause of his much publicised health problems and the writting of Neon Ballroom. He just wants to be Daniel Johns, not daniel silverchair. Therefore, " he and the guys currently have no plans to make music together again." Contrary to what you might have heard, this doesn't mean that they're breaking up, but it does mean that it will be a while before we hear from them again. silverchair has definately come to mean so much to many of you. I'm not sure what it is, but i know, those of who have known silverchair since frogstomp and awaited their every new release & tour, have probably experienced the magic of silverchair. Going through the same problems daniel so candidly expressed through his lyrics, : "don't feel bad, you're not the only one", feeling the same way as so many other listening to the same silverchair song over and over, be it, shade, suicidal dream, israel's son, cemetery,abuse me, pop song for us rejects, nobody came, untitled, spawn again, ana's song, miss you love, dearest helpless, paint pastel princess or emotion sickness. Invoking hapiness when i was so far gone from the real world, silverchair was a sort of escape for me. Seeing an interview, ben, daniel & chris constantly joking, it made me sort of realize that they were just people, but still people i really admired. When i heard this news, i cried. How could she be so attached to a band, people she doesn't even know? Truth is i don't know, but this sadness, this loss will follow me until we hear silverchair again & and i sincerely hope that isn't for the rest f my life.
