This January 2003  photo shows the Kenwood TS-2000 with  HF/VHF remote antenna switch and rotor control.   The   computer is interfaced for PSK-31, RTTY, SSTV and other digital modes. It is also used for logging, word processing, spreadsheets, etc. To the left are scanner, fax, phone and inkjet printer.

I enjoy chasing DX and have IOTA (100 islands), DXCC (SSB) with 170 countries worked, WAS (SSB), WPX (SSB),  have earned the 31 on 31 award with 86 countries worked on PSK-31,   but  also enjoy CW and check into a weekly local CW ragchew net. My recent addition of VHF and UHF capability means I have recently earned  6M  VUCC and working on 2M and 70 cm. I am also on 222 MHz with a homebuilt 25 W transverter and soon on 23 cm.

The 13-element Sommer (DJ2UT) XP-808 beam  at 58 ft covers 40 through 6M through a single coaxial feedline. Above it are  the 8-element 2M yagi, the 6 element 1.25M yagi, the 11-element 70CM yagi and the 2M Vertical. Below at 55 ft is an Alpha Delta DX-B Half Sloper for 160-80-40-30.

All antennas, rotor and switch control lines are surge protected on the tower and the tower is protected by an extensive radial copper strap and ground-rod system. The cables are fed into the house through a conduit. Another set of coaxial surge suppressors is located just inside the cable service entrance, grounded to the rig position and to the power and telephone grounding systems through low impedance copper strapping.

VE3XK Mobile uses an  Icom 706 Mk II G  with Heil HS-706 Boomset,  LDG RT-11 Remote Antenna Tuner and trunk-lid mounted Comet UHV-6 antenna covering 40M through 70 CM.
